Fiber Is An Important Part Of Human Body

Fiber is one of the necessary nutrients our body needs everyday. It plays a significant role in staying healthy and be free of sickness. In the past, most people choose psyllium as their daily fiber supplement.

Psyllium husks, commonly known as isabgol, ispaghula and psyllium, is derived from the seeds of Plantago ovata plant (Psyllium) which is cultivated in the Northwestern region of India. These consist of the epidermis & the collapsed adjacent layers removed from the dried ripe seeds of Plantago Ovata.

Psyllium husk contains extensive amount of soluble as well as insoluble natural fibers which is responsible for it’s laxative action. Light brown to white in color, depending upon the purity, the fibrous husks that are processed from psyllium seeds find usage in Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, Food and varied allied industries.

Fiber is an important part of human diet. The body takes a longer time to-fiber process, so it keeps the digestive system works well. Fiber is an important component in any diet. Not only does fiber help you feel full faster, but it also helps with digesting, prevents constipation, contributes to your heart health, and plays a significant role in your ability to manage your weight.

Fiber has also been proven to play a role in the prevention of obesity. Because you feel fuller sooner when you eat enough fiber, you tend to eat less. Since it also helps control blood sugar levels, fiber is a super fat fighting addition to your healthy eating habits.

Psyllium is from the plantago ovata plant and includes both the seed and the husk. The FDA also allows the following claim for psyllium: Eating soluble from foods such as psyllium as part of a diet low in saturated fat cholesterol may improve heart health. Psyllium is a more concentrated soluble fiber (a whopping 71% soluble fiber with 15% insoluble fiber thrown in) compared to oat bran and apple pectin. Psyllium is actually not digested, but it absorbs liquid in the intestines, swells, and forms a bulky stool, which is easy to pass. While psyllium is often considered merely a natural laxative, it also has the ability to increase fecal viscosity of loose stools.

So, in your efforts to ensure your good health, make sure you get both the right amount of fiber and the right types of dietary fiber to optimize the overall benefit to your well being that fiber can provide. Getting enough fiber in your diet is one of the most important things you can do for your body and your health.
